Coin School Christmas Craft Boutique Opens Nov. 28 (10 a.m. to 4 p. m.)

The Coin School on the Kanabec History Center grounds will once again be transformed into a Christmas Craft Boutique for this annual fundraising event. The Boutique will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting November 28 and running through December 20. There will be free coffee and cookies in the main building for the Holiday Shoppers to enjoy.

There will be hand made crafts by area artisans such as candles, soaps, stained glass, jewelry, wood crafts and many other items. You will also find home made pies, breads, candies, lefse, jams and jellies. 

We also invite you to visit the Kanabec History Center Gift Shop & Antique Nook for more gift items. Also visit the History Center exhibits FREE admission during the holidays (donations always appreciated.) The Kanabec History Center, History Center Gift Shop & Antique Nook are open year round Tuesdays through Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kanabec History Center members receive a 10% discount on all purchases and discounts on event tickets. Become a History Center member to receive member benefits. 

Up coming History Center events include: A Swedish Christmas Open House Dec. 6th 1 to 4 p.m. free coffee and Swedish treats, no admission charge. The Kanabec History Center Christmas Tour of Homes Fundraiser Sat. Dec. 13, tickets on sale now. Sat. Dec. 20 is the History Center Christmas Bake Sale 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sat. Dec. 6 
A Swedish Open House
at the Kanabec History Center 1 to 4 pm. FREE

The Kanabec History Center will host a Swedish Open House on Sat. Dec. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. with a buffet of good things to eat with a Scandinavian flair, like split pea soup, rice pudding, lingonberries, pickled herring, lefse, and assorted sweet breads, coffee etc. There will be a Swedish decorated Christmas tree and hand outs for making some Swedish decorations at home.

Plus you will get a coupon to use in the History Center Gift Shop and the Coin School Christmas Craft Boutique. The open house will take place in the conference room of the main History Center building and is open to the public. It a free no admission charge day so please take time to look at the exhibits besides enjoying the afternoon buffet. It’s all free, however donations are always appreciated. 

If you make a Swedish holiday treat we would also appreciate donations of baked goods. They can left at the Kanabec History Center Friday Dec. 5 between 10 and 4:30 or Sat. Dec. 6 between 10 a.m. and noon.

Tickets Now ON Sale For the Annual
Kanabec History Center Christmas Tour of Homes

Once again six area residents are opening up their homes for the Kanabec History Center Annual Christmas Tour of Homes. The homes will be all decorated inside and out for this occasion. The tour takes place on Sat. Dec. 13, the homes are open from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Your day begins at the Kanabec History Center were you pick up your maps, get some coffee and doughnuts, take a look around the Coin School Christmas Boutique and then take off for your self-guided tour. For this event the Kanabec History Center will open at 9 a.m. on Dec. 13. Along with your maps each ticket holder will also get a coupon for savings in the History Gift Shop and the Boutique. Tickets are available and can be purchased at the Kanabec History Center, during regular History Center hours of 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturdays. The History Center is located at 805 West Forest Avenue in Mora.
