Kanabec History Center Rockathon Set for Feb. 23
Make a Pledge, Sponsor a Team or Come Cheer on the Rockers!!
Rockathon chairperson Cory Stanchfield is once again organizing this popular and fun fund raising event. Each year this event raises between $2000 and $3000 for the Kanabec History Center’s programs and exhibits.

During the event team members rock in rocking chairs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event usually has 20+ teams participating. The team sponsors can form their own team of rockers or Cory can help out with some of her volunteer rockers. There are two rooms of rockers in the Coin School on the Kanabec History grounds. One room is the quiet room for those who like to read, sew, knit etc. while rocking. The other room is the game room where rockers can play bingo and other games for prizes while rocking.

Cory also has a buffet table set up all day with rolls, coffee, pop, sandwich fixings, etc. All of the food and snacks are donated.

Money is raised through team sponsorships of $100 each and through pledges that the individual rockers collect. There is a prize for the rocker who collects the greatest dollar amount in pledges. Sponsorships and pledges are 100% tax deductible.

This year the Co-Directors Janet Franz and Sharon Vogt have formed a team and are collecting pledges. If you would like to help out the Co-Directors team send your pledge to Kanabec History Center PO Box 113 Mora, MN 55051 and make your check out to KHC, note “team Co-directors” on the memo line. We will send you a receipt for your tax records. If you would like to form your own team or volunteer to rock for other teams give us a call at 320-679-1665 and we’ll get you the information you need. Help us make this the most successful Rockathon yet. Maybe this year we can raise $4000!!!
