Friends of the Grass Lake Church
Will meet, Sat. March 7 at 10:00 at the Park Café in Braham. We will be planning for the event in June at the church and prioritizing the next projects on the church. Anyone interested in the restoration of the Grass Lake Mission Church in Grass Lake is welcome to attend. When the project is completed the Church will be available for rental and special events. The Church is under the ownership of the Kanabec History Center in Mora and is the last existing building of the once thriving town of Grass Lake.
The Grass Lake Friends organization was formed by a group of community members who wanted to preserve the Church and the memory of the town of Grass Lake. They have done a tremendous job of raising funds and have made great progress on the church.
More information about Grass Lake and other lost towns of Kanabec County can be found at the Kanabec History Center located at 805 West Forest Avenue in Mora. 320-679-1665.
