Dear Karen,

Recent U.S. Department of Energy regulations have started prohibiting 
the manufacture of inefficient T12 fluorescent lighting. Mora Municipal 
Utilities is helping our business electric customers save money and 
prepare for this national phase-out.

t5 graphicFluorescent lamps are measured in eighths of an inch.The "T" 
number is the diameter of the lamp.So a T12 lamp is 1.5 inches in 
diameter, while a T8 lamp is 1 inch.The narrower the fluorescent lamp, 
the more energy-efficient it is.

T8 and T5 fluorescents are longer lasting, have better quality light, 
and can reduce your lighting costs by up to 45 percent. In fact, some T8 
fixtures are rated to last up to 4,000 hours longer than T12s - nearly 
two years longer for a typical office!

If you use T12 lamps, now is the time to switch to efficient T8 and T5 
lighting systems before our rebates are discontinued. Through June 30, 
we're offering a *$2 BONUS REBATE* - over and above our standard rebates 
- for each qualifying lamp installed when you replace your existing T12 
lighting with T8, Super T8, low-wattage T8, or T5 lighting.
