When you have a minute, this is a very important survey for *all* of our
local employers to fill out. We would really appreciate your assistance
in this effort.
Thank you.
Karen.

Partners in East Central MN:

A study about the feasibility of new regional commuter transportation
and transit services in Central Minnesota is underway, led by the
Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). Planners are examining
the demand for commuter and intercity bus or rail options serving the
following counties:

·Benton

·Cass

·Crow Wing

·Isanti

·Kanabec

·Mille Lacs

·Morrison

·Sherburne

·Stearns

·Todd

·Wadena

·Wright

The goal of the study is to determine whether new transportation
programs or services are feasible, and if so, how they should be developed.

I'm writing to you on behalf of these efforts to understand employer and
employee transportation concerns. The consultant working on this study
has prepared a brief survey to understand employer needs and priorities
in Central Minnesota. Because this is an important effort, supported by
MnDOT, Regional Development Commissions, cities, counties and chambers
of commerce,*I'm asking you to please take 10 minutes to complete the
survey of employers, which is on-line at http://www.employersurvey.info
<http://www.employersurvey.info/>. *

**

Please also forward this survey to employers in your area. The more
surveys that are completed, the more accurate the results will be.

The survey asks basic questions about work locations and work shifts,
and focuses on understanding whether some employee commutes could be
served by new transportation programs or services. Any data you provide
for the study will be kept strictly confidential and no information will
be reported by employer.

*Thank you for taking a few minutes to complete this important survey of
our area's employers.*You may contact the consultant's project manager,
Joey Goldman, at Nelson\Nygaard Associates (415-284-1544,
jgoldman at nelsonnygaard.com <mailto:jgoldman at nelsonnygaard.com>) if you
have any questions about the survey or to share any other information
that may be helpful. You may also contact MnDOT's project manager,
Susan Siemers (320-223-6556, susan.siemers at state.mn.us
<mailto:susan.siemers at state.mn.us>).

Sincerely,

Jordan Zeller

*Reminder: *The survey is on-line at www.employersurvey.info
<http://www.employersurvey.info/> and should be completed as soon as
possible, but no later than November 23, 2011.**
