        Originally a common grape in Bordeaux, France ... Malbec has
        lost popularity as one of the "fab-five" in the blends there.
        Fortunately, it's found other places to flourish. Malbec has
        increased its status in the French region of Cahors, a bit
        southeast of Bordeaux, where it creates distinctive wines that
        now require 70% of the variety. The grape's made an even more
        prosperous home in the burgeoning wine region of Argentina. In
        fact, Argentineans have adopted Malbec as their national grape!
        Malbec has hit its stride – the grape produces spicy wines
        reminiscent of blackberries and chocolate, with a velvety texture.


        An informal and educational food and wine event for everyone
        interested in expanding their knowledge and love of fine wines.
        We will cover some basic topics relating to wine appreciation.
        Taste and compare several Malbec wines from around the world.
        Including, France, Argentina and the United States.

        This is the perfect place for wine beginners to learn about wine
        and why it can be a life long, enjoyable experience. Experienced
        wine lovers can also benefit by using this evening to brush up
        on their wine knowledge and tasting skills. There is always
        something to learn about wine.


        The Downtown Deli will serve a selection of appetizers. You do
        not have to be a member of the Northern Lights Wine Club to
        attend any wine event at the Downtown Deli. No purchase is
        required/. All wines served in Riedel stemware./
