Partners in East Central MN:

Below is an invitation to employers in MnDOT District 3 to participate
in a meeting on transportation needs as part of their District wide
commuter study. Please *pass this invitation on to employers in your
community* -- their input is vital to the success of this planning
project. For more information on this meeting or the commuter study
project, please contact Susan Siemers at (320) 223-6556.

Thanks,

Jordan Zeller

Dear Colleague,

*You are invited to join us for an important meeting to talk about
employer transportation needs in Central Minnesota, Thursday February 2,
from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the St. Cloud Library, *1300 W. St. Germain
St., in the Bremer Room.

Economic development in the area depends on an efficient transportation
network and the goal is to see what can be done to enhance our
transportation network. We are interested in solutions you believe
might make it easier for employees to commute to jobs in Central
Minnesota. We also want to understand whether you, as an employer, have
any challenges recruiting or retaining employees based on the
transportation options currently available in the region.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is leading a project
to assess the demand for commuter transportation programs, as well as
commuter bus or rail service options serving the following counties:

·Benton

·Cass

·Crow Wing

·Isanti

·Kanabec

·Mille Lacs

·Morrison

·Sherburne

·Stearns

·Todd

·Wadena

·Wright

The study is evaluating whether new transportation programs or services
are feasible, and if so, how they should be developed. At the meeting,
the lead consultant on the study, Nelson\Nygaard Associates, will
discuss the findings from the first part of the analysis: regional
surveys of more than 1,400 residents, an employer survey, and a review
of commuter data. We will solicit your input on specific corridors where
new transportation services will be considered and talk about strategies
that you think would improve employee transportation in Central Minnesota.

*RSVP*

The Chamber of Commerce and Regional Development Commission support this
effort and hope that you can participate. If you can join us, please
RSVP to Ellen Oettinger, eoettinger at nelsonnygaard.com
<mailto:jgoldman at nelsonnygaard.com> or 646-274-3922. If you have
questions for the project sponsor, MnDOT's, you may contact the project
manager, Susan Siemers (320) 223-6556, susan.siemers at state.mn.us
<mailto:susan.siemers at state.mn.us>). **

Sincerely,

Jordan Zeller
