Good Day!
This year, we are embarking on a new venture to heat the Civic Center
for the Home Expo. Yes, it's warming up outside (well, maybe not today),
but inside the Civic Center it's cold enough to freeze ice. Jim
Strandlund has been working hard to devise a plan that will keep us
toasty warm inside the arena. We've met with the board of MAYRA and
there are a few things that they will do to increase the temperature and
Jim has brought in a company that has wood burning stoves and they will
use one as a demo to heat the building! The stove will be set up outside
and heat will be piped through water and forced into the building. I
can't thank Jim enough for taking this on - he's worked very hard to put
all of this together so that everyone (vendors and guests) will be
comfortable. The only thing that he's asked of us is to find some wood.
We really are not sure how much we'll need - we will probably heat from
Thursday eve. to Saturday(April 12 - 14) - but whatever we don't use you
can have back - so I am asking you, would any of you have any wood that
you would like to donate (can you drop it off?) to the Home Expo?
Thank you ~
Karen.
