Hi Karen,

I need your help to determine who in Kanabec County will want to help 
work on reducing the number of missing meals and food insecurity in 
Kanabec County.

Three of the counties Lakes & Pines serves, Mille Lacs, Kanabec and 
Pine, are in the Hunger Free MN Map the Meals Gap Study list of five 
Minnesota counties with the highest rate of food insecurity. Lakes & 
Pines Community Needs Assessment, conducted in October 2012, also showed 
that food is a top need in all area counties.//

Lakes & Pines was awarded a planning grant from Hunger Free MN.  It will 
be used this summer & early fall to hold meetings to develop the best 
plan to efficiently coordinateideas,funds and activities to reduce the 
number of missed meals/./

*The Kanabec meeting is August 8, 2:30 to 4:30pm here at Lakes & Pines. 
Hope you and other members of the Chamber are able to attend.*

Please extend the invitation to other community members as well. Or let 
me know who you think should be invited and I will invite them.

Community input is vital to developing the best plan.

Please RSVP by August 7 so enough materials can be available.
