Beginning Tuesday, November 4, 2014, SMMPA's 18 Member Utilities along 
with Minnesota Energy Resources will host a Building Operator 
Certification (BOC) Level 1 training series at Rochester Public 
Utilities in Rochester, MN. The monthly training sessions will run

The BOC Training Program is targeted to operators of medium and large 
commercial buildings, including governmental and institutional buildings 
and complexes. The program trains operators to identify and implement 
long term energy savings opportunities as an integral part of their 
operations and maintenance activities. As a certification program, the 
BOC establishes a recognized professional credential for building operators.

BOC Level 1 training includes approximately 74 hours of classroom and 
project work (7.4 CEUs) in building systems operation and maintenance. 
Each course in the series is completed in a one-day training session, 
except for the Operation of Building HVAC Systems which is a two-day 
course. To become certified, participants must pass an exam at the end 
of each day of training and complete assigned projects.
