[chambernews] Special News - WCCO T.V. and Radio Coming to Mora!

Hi Everyone.

I have some really special news that you may have heard around town.

As you may or may not know, WCCO does a special segment on the news and 
on the radio in the summer time called, "Going to the Lake".
Well, this year they are "Going to the Frozen Lake" and Mora has been 
chosen as one of the locations for them to come to.

The television programmers contacted the Vasaloppet as they are very 
much interested in the event. The Vasaloppet board is working hard on 
all the planning for this. Amelia Santinello and Mark Rosen are coming 
up. They will feature our community/the Vasaloppet on the 5, 6, and 
10:pm news on Thursday, Feb. 11 and the 5 & 6:pm news on Friday, Feb. 
12. They will not be up here for the weekend, but it may help us get 
more folks up here to see and participate in the race and events 
surrounding it - and the community.

WCCO radio will be here to do their Morning Show with Dave Lee in the 
Celebration Tent on Friday, Feb. 12th. Lisa Sipes of WCCO radio got in 
touch with me at the Chamber office. I don't know if any of you listen 
to WCCO radio, but I do everyday, each morning - I grew up with it - Mom 
had it on in the kitchen all of the time. There was a charge for us to 
sponsor the morning program and it was split evenly between the Chamber, 
City, Vasaloppet, FirstLight Health System and the Classic Series 
(canoe/bike/half marathon). Dave Lee, Mike Lynch and the crew will set 
up in the tent and I'd like to ask each of you if you might be 
interested in participating in some way? There needs to be action in the 
tent, some background noises, people, and they would like to have some 
food, coffee, etc. Would you local restauranteurs wish to serve your 
specialty? Mark? Mike? Denise? Jeremy? ??? It would be great to play on 
the Scandinavian/ethnic theme. It would be great to get some lefse?!! 
Would anyone like to make some for them? Please, no Lutefisk!! No amount 
of air filtration would get that smell out of the tent!
I am asking that you please help us make this a great, friendly, warm & 
fuzzy event, this is an opportunity that we are so grateful to have. 
Let's show them the BEST of MORA!
