[vasa-announce] Problems with Vasa list - our apologies

Hello, folks!


This is the mail admin at raqpaq.kanabecsystems.com. We had a little  
problem with the Vasaloppet mailing list sending out un-needed  
"reminder" messages this morning to a bunch of people. This was due  
to the listserv software becoming mis-configured when we moved the  
list to a new server last week. We apologize for any confusion this  
may have caused.

"But wait," you say, "how did I get on this list in the first  
place?!" Simple: the Vasaloppet people have been asking for your e- 
mail address as part of your Vasa registration for some time now. If  
you ever put your e-mail address down on your registration form, you  
have been placed on the mailing list.

"Does this mean that you're going to spam me?" Of course not! The  
Vasaloppet plans to send out a message to you occasionally (read:  
every month or so, and possibly every few weeks as the race draws  
nearer) to keep you up-to-date on the latest Vasa developments,  
deadlines, etc. This list will never pester you with big or frequent  
messages, nor will anyone ever sell or give away access to your email  
address.

"Cool - that sounds useful!" We're glad you feel that way. Watch your  
inbox in the coming weeks for updates from us here in Mora.

"I don't care - I still want off!" That's OK with us - just send a  
blank message to vasa-announce-leave at raqpaq.kanabecsystems.com, reply  
to the resulting confirmation message, and you should never again be  
bothered by messages from this list.
