Single lane traffic expected on Highway 70 in Kanabec County

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Motorists should plan for single lane traffic on Highway
70 between the junctions of Highway 65 and Highway 107, as construction
begins on a culvert repair and turn lane safety improvement project in
Kanabec County. Construction is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 18.

Motorists should follow directions of all traffic control personnel who will
direct traffic around crews working on one side of the highway at a time.
Drivers should be alert for flagging operations during turn lane
construction at the intersection of Highway 70 at Kanabec County Highway 11.

After the culvert repairs and turn lane construction are done, flaggers and
a pilot car will control traffic during milling and paving operations. The
entire project is expected to be complete in late August, weather
permitting.

Knife River Construction Corporation of Sauk Rapids is the prime contractor
for the $1.2 million safety improvement project.

Travelers are advised to plan ahead and log onto www.511mn.org or call 511
for up-to-date statewide travel information.
