Beaded Jewelry Making Classes
Offered at the Kanabec History Center
The Kanabec History Center is offering two classes on making beaded jewelry, Saturday, May 12. 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. is BASIC BEADING TECHNIQUES FOR JEWELRY. Learn about basic beading tools, wire and beads and the basic stringing techniques for making jewelry. All participants will make a bracelet and a pair of earrings to take home.
1 to 3 p.m. is WIRE WRAP TECHNIQUE FOR MAKING JEWELRY. Learn the wire warp technique to create unique jewelry. All participants will make a bracelet and a pair of earrings to take home.
Both classes are being taught by local artist, Dee Kotaska. There is a limit of 10 students for each class.
Call 320-679-1665 for fee information and to register. The Kanabec History Center is located at 805 West Forest Avenue in Mora. Regular History Center hours are 10 to 4:30 Monday through Saturday. Open other hours for special events and rentals.

Open House Sat. May 19
The Kanabec History Center invites everyone to an Open House, Sat. May 19, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in honor of Mora's 125th Anniversary. There will be new exhibits, free admission, free coffee and cake, free popcorn, the grand opening of the new Antique and Collectable Nook, a gathering of several area clay artists with demonstrations and pots etc. for sale. The Mora Town and Country Garden Club will have a plant sale here that day starting at 7 a.m. The KHC Food Booth will be open 10:30 to 4 with hot dogs, chili dogs, chips and root beer floats. Kanabec History Center Volunteers
To Sell Brats at Coborns
Kanabec History Center volunteers will be manning the Corborn's Brat Stand, Friday May 11, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday May 12, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stop by to say hello, have a brat or hot dog and help raise some funds for Kanabec History Center programs and exhibits. The stand is located in Coborn's parking lot 710 Frankie Lane in Mora off of highway 65. See you there this weekend.
